Dr. Hussain Ali Mughal (12 July 1937 - 10 February 1996) was born in Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, then part of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP), Pakistan. He graduated as a medical doctor in 1963 from Hyderabad, Sindh.
Dr. Mughal began his career in 1965 with Santa Fe OilField Drilling Company in Abu Dhabi, then known as the Trucial Coast of Oman. In 1968, he joined the Abu Dhabi Defence Forces, where he played a pivotal role in establishing medical services for the UAE Armed Forces, especially following the UAE's independence on December 2, 1971. Serving until 1986, he rose to the rank of Colonel, holding various prestigious positions such as Commander of the Military Hospital, Commander of Sheikh Zayed Military Hospital, President of the Recruiting Committee for Doctors, and Deputy Director of Health Services. His dedication to healthcare and support for overseas Pakistanis in the UAE, including the establishment of the Pakistan Cultural Centre in 1974, left a lasting legacy.
